Japanese Souvenir Review | A Premium Ramen Snack That Goes Great with Beer

Another Interesting Find at Haneda Airport

[Ramen snack display at Edo Shokuhinkan, Haneda Airport]

Whenever I visit an airport in Japan, I enjoy browsing the souvenir shops.

This time, I stopped by Edo Shokuhinkan at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, where I discovered something interesting.

A ramen snack!

Not instant ramen that you cook with hot water, but crunchy noodles you can eat straight from the package.

These weren’t just ordinary noodle snacks. They were presented as premium ramen snacks inspired by Japanese ramen flavors and famous ramen shops.

As someone who enjoys ramen, I couldn’t resist giving one a try.

Which Ramen Flavor Should I Choose?

The display featured several ramen varieties, each with its own distinctive character.

I decided to go with Tokyo Shoyu (Soy Sauce) Ramen.

Shoyu ramen is one of Japan’s classic ramen styles. Its soy sauce-based broth is known for its savory aroma and rich umami flavor.

I was curious to see how those flavors would translate into a crunchy snack.

What’s Inside the Box?

The red packaging has a traditional Japanese feel, making it an attractive souvenir.

Inside are five individually packed portions.

That makes it convenient to share with friends, bring back to the office, or enjoy a little at a time.

The Secret Is in the Double Broth

According to the product description, this Tokyo Shoyu flavor is inspired by a broth made from two ingredients:

Dried sardines and chicken.

In Japanese ramen, dried sardines, called niboshi, are often used to create a deep, savory flavor.

Chicken adds another layer of richness, while soy sauce brings its distinctive aroma.

Together, they create what Japanese ramen fans call a double broth, or W soup.

But can you really experience those flavors in a dry, crunchy snack?

Time to open the package!

Let’s Try It!

The first thing I noticed was how much it looked like a miniature bowl of ramen.

There were crunchy noodles, little toppings, and even pieces of narutomaki — the familiar white-and-pink spiral fish cake often seen in Japanese ramen.

The noodles were crispy and fun to eat.

I think this snack would go really well with a cold beer!

More Souvenirs from Haneda Airport

At the same Edo Shokuhinkan shop in Haneda Airport, I also discovered a completely different treat — Warabi Mochi Baumkuchen with a whole chestnut inside.

It’s soft, chewy, and delicately sweet.
