Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Numazu Review: A Comfortable Stay at Business Hotel

Hotel

Looking for a comfortable hotel in Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan?

During our trip to Numazu in November 2026, we stayed at Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Numazu, a business hotel near the north exit of JR Numazu Station (5min walk from the station).

Numazu is a coastal city southwest of Tokyo, close to the Izu Peninsula and the Mount Fuji area. It is a convenient place to stay while exploring eastern Shizuoka.

We weren’t expecting anything particularly special from a business hotel. However, the clean room, thoughtful facilities, friendly staff, and delicious Japanese breakfast made this a surprisingly memorable stay.

Here’s our firsthand review.

Location: Near JR Numazu Station

Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Numazu is located near the north exit of JR Numazu Station.

The surrounding area has restaurants and other convenient facilities, making it a practical base for sightseeing or business travel.

Numazu is also a useful starting point for exploring the Izu Peninsula and other destinations in eastern Shizuoka.

During our stay, the hotel’s location made it easy to look for somewhere to enjoy dinner.

Clean and Comfortable Guest Rooms

The first thing we noticed when entering our room was its cleanliness.

The room wasn’t particularly spacious, but everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully arranged.

The bed featured a Simmons mattress, and two types of pillows were provided.

A comfortable bed makes a real difference when traveling, and we appreciated these details.

The room offered everything we needed for a relaxing overnight stay.

A Separate Bathroom and Toilet

One feature we particularly liked was the separate bathroom and toilet.

Many Japanese business hotels have compact unit bathrooms, where the bathtub, shower, washbasin, and toilet share a single space.

At Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Numazu, our room had a separate bathroom, making it easier to relax and enjoy a proper bath.

The washbasin area was also exceptionally clean.

Friendly Staff and Thoughtful Hospitality

One of the most memorable parts of our stay was the hospitality of the front desk staff.

When we asked for recommendations for dinner, the staff took the time to suggest local restaurants and explain our options.

It was a simple interaction, but it made a real difference.

When visiting an unfamiliar city, helpful local recommendations can be just as valuable as the hotel’s facilities.

This experience reminded us that great hospitality doesn’t necessarily require a luxury hotel.

Sometimes, it’s the personal attention that makes a stay special.

Japanese Breakfast: A Small but Thoughtful Buffet

The following morning, we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel.

The breakfast buffet wasn’t particularly large, but it offered a thoughtful selection of Japanese dishes.

One item that caught our attention was a small serving of chirashi sushi.

Chirashi sushi is a traditional Japanese dish consisting of seasoned sushi rice topped with assorted ingredients.

The small portions made it easy to sample different dishes without feeling too full.

Breakfast Highlight: Freshly Grilled Aji no Himono

The highlight of our breakfast was undoubtedly aji no himono, Japanese dried horse mackerel.

Numazu is famous for its dried seafood, so this was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a local specialty.

What made the experience particularly enjoyable was that the fish was grilled after we placed our order.

It took approximately eight minutes to prepare.

When it arrived, the fish was freshly grilled, piping hot, and delicious.

It was well worth the short wait.

For international travelers who haven’t tried traditional Japanese dried fish, this is an excellent introduction to one of Numazu’s local food specialties.

Room Rate: ¥10,000 (USD65) for Our Stay

Our accommodation cost was ¥10,000 (USD65) for this stay in November 2026.

Considering the clean room, comfortable bedding, separate bathroom, and friendly staff, we felt the hotel offered good value.

Room rates vary depending on travel dates, room types, and booking conditions, so it’s worth checking current prices before making a reservation.

A Hotel Recognized for Guest Satisfaction

We also noticed an award displayed inside the hotel.

The Japanese wording was “Tomatte Yokatta Yado” (泊まってよかった宿), which roughly translates to “A Place We’re Glad We Stayed.”

After our experience, we could understand the recognition.

The hotel doesn’t offer the luxury of a five-star property, but it delivers the things that matter most to many travelers: cleanliness, comfort, good service, and a satisfying breakfast.

Final Thoughts: A Hotel We’d Happily Stay at Again

Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Numazu turned out to be a very pleasant surprise.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the separate bathroom made our stay more relaxing.

The front desk staff were genuinely helpful, and the freshly grilled aji no himono at breakfast was particularly memorable.

For travelers looking for a comfortable and practical hotel near Numazu Station, Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Numazu is definitely worth considering.

We would happily stay here again on our next visit to Numazu.
